About Loods6

Loods6 is located on the KNSM Island in Amsterdam-East and is part of the former harbour infrastructure of the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Stoomboot-Maatschappij (KNSM). The elongated warehouse building was constructed in 1925 as a storage and transit space for goods and passengers arriving in or departing from the Port of Amsterdam.

Since 1987 the building has had a new function as a creative workspace. Stichting Kunstwerk Loods6 manages the building and provides space for artists, designers and creative entrepreneurs. Over the years, Loods6 has developed into one of Amsterdam’s recognizable creative hubs, housing studios, workspaces, shops, hospitality venues and public spaces for exhibitions and events.

The Bagagehal, originally used as a cargo handling space, now serves as a distinctive exhibition and event venue where art, culture and audiences meet. Since 2024, Loods6 has also developed its own cultural programming in spaces such as the L6 Project Space, further strengthening its role as a place where artists and the public can connect.
